Republican Rosanna Szabo raised more than $50,000 during a recent fund-raiser for her upcoming bid for Gwinnett solicitor general in 2006. She held the event at the Old Courthouse in Lawrenceville for 125 contributors.

Szabo works as chief assistant solicitor for Gerald Blaney, who is not seeking re-election. He's served there nearly 20 years.

Szabo's political consultants at Landmark Communications claim it was the "largest single fund-raising event for solicitor general ever held in the entire state of Georgia."

But who's counting?

Apparently, crime-fighting is a family affair for Szabo. Her husband, Gwinnett police officer Louis Szabo, nabs bad guys and she puts them in jail.
